Terms of Service
These are the terms on which Rewatch is offered. They are meant to be read: the short version is that you keep what you write, you treat other people decently, and we run the site as well as we can.
1. What Rewatch is
Rewatch is a website for keeping track of the films, series, anime and music you consume, rating and reviewing them, making lists, and finding people who share your taste. By creating an account or using the site you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Rewatch.
Rewatch is a new service and is still growing. Features will change, and some will be added or removed.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old. If you are younger, do not create an account; if we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we will close it.
- Give us a real email address that you can read, and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us at once if you think someone else has got into it.
- One person should not run several accounts to give a work more ratings than it deserves, to dodge a suspension, or to harass someone.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings. It is deactivated at once and erased permanently after 30 days; signing in during that time cancels the deletion.
3. What you post
Your ratings, diary entries, reviews, comments, lists, profile text and pictures are yours. You are responsible for them, and you promise that you have the right to post them and that they do not break the law or anyone else's rights.
To run Rewatch we need your permission to store your content and show it to the people you chose to show it to. You give Rewatch a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, format and display your content, only for operating, securing and improving the service. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except that copies may remain in backups for a short time and that a quotation inside someone else's content stays theirs. We do not sell your content and do not use it to train AI models.
Who can see what is set by your privacy settings. Public things are public: anyone, signed in or not, can read them, and search engines may list them.
4. Rules of the house
Everything on Rewatch has to follow the Community Guidelines. In particular, you must not:
- harass, threaten or discriminate against people, or publish their private information;
- post anything illegal, or anything that sexualises minors;
- impersonate another person or organisation, or mislead people about who you are;
- send spam, or use Rewatch to advertise something unrelated, or manipulate ratings with fake accounts or paid or coordinated reviews;
- scrape the site, overload it, probe it for weaknesses, or get around its limits and protections. If you find a security problem, please tell us (see Contact) rather than use it.
5. Moderation
Anyone signed in can report a review, comment, list or profile. Moderators may hide or remove content, warn, suspend or ban accounts that break these Terms or the Guidelines, and may act on content that is illegal or harmful even without a report. Decisions are recorded. We tell the person affected what we did and why, and they can answer us by email at [email protected]; we will look again.
6. Copyright and takedowns
If you believe something on Rewatch infringes your copyright or another right, write to [email protected] with what it is, where it is, why it is yours, and how to reach you. We will remove what should not be here and tell the person who posted it.
7. Information about films, series, anime and music
Film and series data and images come from TMDB; anime data from AniList; music data from MusicBrainz, with cover art from the Cover Art Archive. They belong to their owners and are shown for information. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. We try to keep this information right but cannot promise it is complete or correct. Spoiler protection is best-effort: it depends on what people mark and what you have told us you have seen.
8. The service as it is
Rewatch is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it running and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors, and we may change, suspend or stop any part of it. Please keep your own copy of anything you could not bear to lose.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profit or goodwill, and our total liability for any claim relating to Rewatch is limited to USD 100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer where you live.
9. Ending things
You can stop using Rewatch whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, puts others or the service at risk, or that the law requires us to close. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as 3, 6 and 8) do.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The date at the top says when they last changed. If a change matters (it takes something away from you or adds a duty), we will tell you by email or on the site before it applies. Using Rewatch after a change means you accept it; if you do not, you can delete your account.
11. Law and contact
These Terms are governed by the law of the country where the operator of Rewatch is based, without taking away protections that the law of your own country gives you as a consumer. If something goes wrong, write to us first at [email protected]; most problems are easy to put right.
